1/2 x + 1/5 x = 1/6 x - 1/6

first you have to find the common denominator which is 30

15/30 x + 6/30 x = 5/30 x - 5/30

21/30 x = 5 /30 x-5/30

subtract 5/30 from each side

16/30 x =- 5/30

 multiply each side by 30

16 x = -5

divide each side by 16

x = -5/16
