What is the value of z in the equation z−7.8=32.9 ?

z−7.8=32.9
add 7.8 to both sides
z−7.8 + 7.8 = 32.9 + 7.8
simplify
z = 40.7

Try to get z all by itself. Do the inverse of subtraction (addition) to the other side.

z= 40.7
