What is the 30th term in a sequence given by the explicit function: A(n) = -1 + (n-1)2

It'll be A(30) = -1 + (30-1)2

The common difference is 2 
The first term is -1 
First subtract 30 from 1 you get 29
29 times 2 = 58 
58 - 1 = 57 

The 30th term in this secuence is 57
