The correct answer is "size of the molecule". This is the correct answer because glucose and water molecules are smaller than blood cells and proteins. The small size of water and glucose allow them to travel through a capillary with the help of membrane proteins and gap junctions. Blood cells and proteins are too large to use the membrane transporters and thus remain inside the capillary.
