4 = -6w + 8(w+2) is an equation, and your job is to "Find the value of w that satisfies this equation."
Perform the indicated multiplication:
4 = -6w + 8w + 16. This becomes:
4 = 2w + 16, which in turn becomes 2w = -14. Thus, w = -7 (answer)
