Well I don't know, and you forgot to give me any choices or suggestions.
So I'll have to calculate it.  You can watch if you feel like it.

You said                                5 - 4x  =  -3

Subtract  5  from each side:     - 4x  =  -8

Divide each side by  -4 :               x = 2
