the various molecules found in all life forms are called organic compounds because they are produced by organisms. organic molecules are carbon based compounds and range from small to enormous in size. some of these are are antigens, carbohydrates, enzymes, hormones, lipids and fatty acids, neurotransmitters, nucleic acids, proteins, peptides and amino acids, lectins, vitamins, and fats and oils.
