Adverbs modifies an adjective, adverbs, and nouns. It describes the manner of an adjective or verb for example: Alan ran quickly. Quickly is an adverb as it is describing how did Alan run. Nouns cannot be modified my adverb until unless there is no verb. Nouns can be modified by adjectives.
