By finding an equivalent fraction of [tex] \frac{5}{6} [/tex] that has a denominator of 8, we can work out several fractions whose value less than 5/6

[tex] \frac{5}{6}= \frac{5*1.5}{6*1.5}= \frac{7.5}{8} [/tex] 

So 5/6 is equivalent to 7.5/8

Fractions that is smaller than 7.5/8 could be: 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, 4/8, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8
