It doesn't matter as long as you use the same arm always. Commonly the right arm is used because it's a dominant arm with the majority of people, but the left arm can be used just as well. If you use both you can get different readings, but small differences are not that important. Big differences are because they can indicate that there's arterial clogging somewhere in the body.
