Why is the term "primitivism" a misnomer?

Because now living in the 21st Century we can see that civilization is an extremely relative term and creating a dichotomy of primitive and civilized does not accurately anything in reality and in fact perpetuates an empiricist idea that western euro-centric culture is the definitive civilization on earth and in known existence.
