Firstly, to calculate a price you need to change the percentage into a decimal. You do this by dividing it by 100.

30 / 100 = 0.3
The price will be 70% of the original price,
70 / 100 = 0.7,
0.7 * 53 = 37.10,

The sale price of the sweater will be $37.10.
