he traveled 48 feet more or you could say he traveled 16 yards more

1 yard is equal to 3 feet.  Multiply 20 by 3 to get Chuckie's distance, 60 feet.  subtract 12, Dill's distance, from Chuckie's, 60 feet, to get 48 feet.
