-3x + 8y = -1....multiply by 2

6x + 15y = 33 (result of multiplying by 3)
-6x + 16y = -2 (result of multiplying by -2)

31y = 31
y = 31/31
y = 1
2x + 5y = 11
2x + 5(1) = 11
2x + 5 = 11
2x = 11 - 5
2x = 6
x = 6/2
x = 3
solution is (3,1)
