Use the properties of logarithm to expand: log(x⁸ y)

Given:

[tex]\log (x^8y)[/tex]

Using the law of logarithm,

log (ab) = log a + log b

log aⁿ = log a + log a + ... + log a = n * log a

log(x⁸ y) = 8log x + logy
