Given two sides of a triangle, x, and z, such that

[tex]x\le z[/tex]

then the third side y must satisfy the following condition

[tex]z-xIn our case,

x =13, and z = 17

Then, the third side y

lies in

17-13 < x < 17 +13

4 < x < 30

Hence the largest possible whole number of the third side is 29
