You can rationalise this by multiplying the numerator and denominator by the denominator (inverse the sign).

[tex]\frac{9}{3- \sqrt{2} } * \frac{3+ \sqrt{2}}{3+ \sqrt{2}} = \frac{27+9 \sqrt{2}}{7} [/tex]
