Answer:

Length of Rectangle is 3 cm less than twice the width

Area is 44 m2 ; let W = width;  2W - 3 = Length

Arect = L times W

44 = W ( 2W - 3 )

44 = 2W2 - 3W

0 = 2W2 - 3W - 44

Factoring

0 = ( 2W - 11 )( W +4)

2W - 11 =0   ;            W + 4 = 0

       W = 11/2                 W = -4  (width can not be a negative number)

Therefor: width is 11/2  and length is 8
