2x+6=1
-5+6=1
-5÷2=-2.5
x=-2.5

The answer is x = -5/2 and -2.5.
x + 3 = 1/2 ( divide both sides by 2)
x = 1/2 - 3 ( subtract 3 from both sides )
x = -5/2 ( simplify 1/2 - 3 to -5/2 )
