we know that

The statement the sum of [tex]-4x[/tex] and [tex]2[/tex] is  [tex]9[/tex] represent

[tex](-4x+2)=9[/tex]

 another way to say it is [tex]-4x[/tex] plus [tex]2[/tex] equals [tex]9[/tex]

therefore

the answer is the option

[tex](-4x+2)=9[/tex]
