They concluded that the world circled the sun rather than the other way around. Newton discovered the laws of gravity, motion, & created a new branch of mathematics - calculus. ... The big name for the Enlightenment is Sir Isaac Newton. He discovered gravity, this is the calculus branch of mathematics.
