Given that : JA=17 and YA=3

Replace the value in the equation and find out JY

[tex]JA = JY +YA[/tex]

Subtract 3 from both sides of the equation

[tex]17-3 = JY +3-3[/tex]

[tex]14= JY[/tex]

So JY= 14
