A line segment is composed of two fixed endpoints while a  line is indifinetly composed of endless points with no ends. The symbol used to differentiate the two is the symbol that is above the letters forming the line segment or line.A line has an arrow in both ends while a line segment has a symbol of a bar only above the letters
