Cumulus and stratus clouds belong to the low cloud group which exists up to 6,500 feet. Other clouds belonging to this type are stratus, stratocumulus and Nimbostratus clouds.Middle clouds include altostratus and altocumulus clouds on the other hand found from 6500 feet to 8000 feet.
