the formula for area of a circle is pi×radius^2, the sides of the square is equivalent to the diameter of the circle so therefore since the radius of a circle is half the diameter, the radius is 1 (2/2). so if you put that into the formula then you get pi×1^2 to which the anwser is 3.14 (to 2 dp)
