Purging via self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas to prevent weight gain are characteristics of someone with bulimia. This is a serious eating disorder. Symptoms of this are the consumption of large amounts of food then vomiting it to prevent weight gain.
