Hello!

The  Second Continental Congress  had "adopted" the United States Declaration of Independence. The president of the Continental Congress, Mr. John Hancock, signed it that day, on July 4, 1776, which is now known as independence day. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and many others also signed the Declaration of Independence.

Hope this helps, have a great day/night! :)
