unit price: the rate or simplified version

if you want to simplify 4 pounds you want to make it as simple as possible: 1 pound. what do you do to get it to one pound? you divide by 4. now, whatever you do to that you do to the price so 6.48 / 4.

6.48/4=1.62
1.62

so: that means the unit price (one pound of fruit) costs exactly $1.62
