The Y intercept is 12 because it doesn't change and doesn't have a varible attached.

To get the y intercept, you must make x=0.
Y=-4(0)+12
Y=12

To get the X intercept, Y=0.

0=-4x+12
Subtract twelve.
-12=-4x
Divide negative four.
3=x
The x intercept is 3.
