Answer : the excluded value is 5 and -3

Explanation:

Since we have [tex]\frac{-7}{k^2-2k-15}[/tex]

So, the denominator is [tex]k^2-2k-15[/tex]

By splitting the middle term  we get,

[tex]k^2-2k-15=0\\k^2-5k+3k-15=0\\k(k-5)+3(k-5)=0\\(k-5)(k+3)=0\\k-5=0;k+3=0\\k=5 \text{and } k=-3[/tex]

So, the excluded value will be 5 and  -3

i.e K can't take the value as 5 and -3 otherwise it becomes not defined .
