Simple, plug in 0. When X is 0, we have our y-intercept. Remember, X=0

[tex]f(x) = 5( {2}^{x} ) \\ f(0) = 5( {2}^{(0)} ) \\ f(0) = 5 \\ (0,5)[/tex]
Our y-intercept is 5. X=0, Y=5 hence (0,5)
