Man and Sato we’re building a coffee table using 4 inch tiles. Nan used 30 tiles and Sato uses half as many. How many total tiles did they use?

Here, we have to add Nan's tiles to Sato's tile usage, which is half of Nan's.

We can solve this expression:

30 + 30 (0.5)
30 + 15
= 45

Therefore, both used a total of 45 tiles! :)
